Protect A Cow

Those who kill animals and give them unnecessary pain--as people do in slaughterhouses--will be killed in a similar way in the next life and in many lives to come.

This is another authoritative statement made by the great sage Narada. Those who kill animals and give them unnecessary pain--as people do in slaughterhouses--will be killed in a similar way in the next life and in many lives to come................

                  kadarthiya tumi yata marila jivere
               tara taiche toma maribe janma-janmantare"

                              TRANSLATION

     "Narada Muni continued, `All the animals that you have killed and given unnecessary pain will kill you one after the other in your next life ad in life after life.'

Srila Prabhupada. Even on the sun and moon there are living entities. What is the opinion of the scientists?

The creation of the material universe is like the growth of a great banyan tree[3] from a tiny seed. No one can see the tree within the seed, but all the necessary ingredients for the tree are there, including the required intelligence.

The tree has intelligence: "If I go this way, I will be blocked, so I will go that way." But where are its eyes? How can it see? It has intelligence. That intelligence may not be as good as yours, but it is intelligence.

Srila Prabhupada. Yes. The frog is always thinking in terms relative to his well. He has no power to think otherwise. The ocean is great, but he is thinking of the ocean's greatness in terms relative to his own greatness.

Srila Prabhupada. That must be a person. Who is allowing someone to survive and someone to be killed? There must be some authority with discretion to give such an order. That is our first proposition.
