WHO WE ARE The “Protect A Cow” Sanctuary & Farm Trust was founded by Ralph Laurino, a leading proponent of cow protection and an authority on alternative grazing methods. Ralph has devoted the past 20 years to developing an agricultural and spiritual model of the cow sanctuary as originally envisioned by Srila Prabhupada. In the process, “Protect A Cow” has led the fight to uncover and rectify the abuses of prior systems of “cow protection” that freely borrowed Srila Prabhupada’s name but failed to fulfill his true philosophy. All donations to “Protect A Cow” go directly to the maintenance of each cow at the sanctuary and to the land supporting them.
OUR MISSION “Protect A Cow” shares the vision put forth by Srila Prabuhupada almost 30 years ago of the “goshalla” (a cow protection farm): “Where there is agriculture there must be cows. That is our mission: Cow protection and agriculture and if there is excess, trade. This is a no-profit scheme. For the agriculture we want to produce our own food and we want to keep cows for our own milk … We want a temple, a goshalla and agriculture.” Srila Prabhupada, November 28, 1976
